This was a terrible response to my post.

Let me hold your hand though this.:smooch:

You don't have a team, son. So there's no way anyone can question your teams front office decisions.

I guess the Phillies also had a fire sale because 2/3 of their outfield is gone.

I'm not going to around in circles with this.

Please go out and get laid. It will get your mind off of me AND the Marlins.

I got your point perfectly well. Obviously, I'm the one that has to spell it out for YOU. The fact of the matter is that you defend the Marlins every chance you get - no matter how SHITTY their personnel decisions may be. Makes no difference if it's "your team" or not. It makes you look like a fucking retard.

Name one team that spent as much money as the Marlins in the offseason and bails on the season after 3.5 months - IN ANY SPORT. Name one MLB team that has ever been buying up until July (when they acquired Carlos Lee) and were selling by the end of the month. You can't. They're fucking idiots. No surprise that they are "your" team.

I'd be very surprised if they can unload that entire contract on another team.

I wonder if they placed him on waivers. Just to keep the math simple, let's say he is owed $42 mil the next 3 years and 3 for this year for a total of $45 mil. I could see the Yankees doing that. St Louis may also (his hometown). Of course if Miami wants a team to take the entire salary, the prospect they get in return isn't a blue-chipper. That's much more feasible than taking on Cliff Lee's contract.

Ouch, how to set up for years of failure. The Miggy Cabrera trade:

December 4, 2007: Traded by the Florida Marlins with Dontrelle Willis to the Detroit Tigers for Dallas Trahern (minors), Burke Badenhop, Eulogio De La Cruz, Cameron Maybin, Andrew Miller and Mike Rabelo.

The glaring mistake on the Cabrera trade came well before the trade itself.

How they did not him up to a long year deal well before Free Agency is beyond me.

Willis was terrible after the trade and they got back Miller and Maybin who were both Top 3 BP spects at the time.

No one in their wildest dreams would have predicted that both Maybin and Miller would amount to essentially nothing.

You are correct on all the points. Tigers really hated giving up Miller. I forgot about him. I couldn't remember how the Tigers got Miggy, knew Willis was in the trade for the prospects.

Pretty sure there was a GO GET LAID comment made here recently.

Eagerly awaiting the living in your mom's basement and my personal favorite, dropped on your head by your mother/not held by your mother/mother fucker!!!

Building that stadium and actually trying was 10x worse than whiffing on the Cabrera prospects.

Love the A's and their owners philosophy.

Why? The taxpayers paid for it.

The A's philosophy is great until they need that one player to put them over the top and it isn't there. Really tough when every is making moves (not that they are allgood). They need to get that new stadium, drawing 12K/night is a joke.
