Unless the dealer has an inability to shuffle the pack then there is no way you can get a "feel" for dealt cards. Using similar logic (in terms of an event with a random and unknown outcome) would be saying that after seeing a coin being tossed 500 times, you're going get a feel for the coin and be in a position to predict the outcome of any tosses going forward.

The idea is either revolutionary or nonsense. If you can theorize the method and prove it, you will be a very rich man.

While I mostly disagree with the "flow theory," most poker dealers are taught shuffle, shuffle, strip, shuffle. It can lead to some clumping. You can request that the dealer wash the deck.

New setups are a waste of time and money (for both profitable players and the dealer). Don't tell me you're the guy who asks for setups, Wally.

We need Cobra King's input here.

Though I knew he was playing alot more poker this is the first I heard of the job situation. I won`t comment on craps because I absolutely despise the game at this point in my life and haven`t played it in almost a decade and would rather throw up than put even a $1 chip in action on one of those tables. As for poker, I use to play online Heads Up S&G to supplement my income and did that for a few years until UIEGA hit and alot of the games I played (and many of the donkeys) dried up. I was ok with that at the time because to be honest it got to the point where I just didn`t enjoy the game anymore, withdrew all my poker funds figuring i`d take a year or so off and get back into it. It`s now been like 5 years and I have no interest in going back. The horses take up alot of my time and with any additional time I`d rather spend it betting sports. As for the `flow of the cards`..........i`ve already written enough so i`ll just say `What P-Roid said`.

Poker is about figuring out how your opponents are playing and adjusting accordingly to make ideal decisions. End of story.

This whole

"I get more flushes some sessions and some I never get a hand flow theory" puts me on tilt. Actually I would expect nothing less from wal the gambling savant.

Wally stick to making youtubes about me you are pretty good at that.:console:

MF'er, I am guilty of asking for a setup occasionally. Sometimes when in a bad run or dead period you just need to trick yourself into believing something will change even if you know the new deck is the same cards as the old deck.

P-Roid for the record I'm not really pissed off.

Had some good sessions in Mississippi over the weekend and last night went back to my local and was welcomed back to the same old bullshit. Money gets in good and goes down in flames. It's a joke in the room that rigor mortis of the wallet sets in as soon as I walk in the door cause I am dead money walking. It's unbelievable how many 1 or 2 outers get pulled against me.

oh yeah setups :lmao: another reason to avoid poker.

wonder how much has been done with shuffle tracking in poker :dunno: would guess it's mostly a waste of time.

Joe, you can't beat the rake, pal.

If you need a job come out west, there are more jobs here than people.

Plommer you can be the rake, I have been doing it for a while. Never really kept tabs of what I actually earn. Now doing that plus working on the skills you need all the time, knowing exactly what's in the pot, working on the board reading swkills, making notes on the players I play against all the time.

Averaging just over $20/hr now..... personally I think I need to get it closer to $30 to make a serious go. Still playing 1/2 and once I build the roll to 5K or so will start taking some shots at the 2/5 game. I don't want to blow all the work I"ve put in right now taking a shot. Want to do it once I have a really good idea where I am at. Right now I figure I've played almost 2k in hands and until I hit 10K in hands played won't really have a concept. I have spoken to Cobra off forum and he's all supportive.

Peace out ppls

When you carry the Bible, Satan gets a headache. When you open it, he collapses. When he sees you reading it, he faints. When he sees you living it, he flees. And just when you're about to re-post this, he'll try to discourage you......Any takers?

That is my facebook status.... so yes I took the challenge.....

BTW I am playing at Rama tomorrow.

We need more of Wally's advanced poker theory.

This thread has some serious potential.

Targeting does more harm than good for your game.

There is always gonna be a player that you have it out for. Maybe they are obnoxious, maybe they are a luck box, maybe they are just really bad and you are chomping at the bit to get your piece of their pie. While you may score occasionally more often than not you will get burned.

What tends to happen is you get so focused on getting that person that you tune in too much and either miss something obvious or simply run into a bad timing issue and you target ends up felting you.

The other issue of getting too involved with one player even if you end up getting them is that you tend to miss other opportunities at the table because all your attention is on one person.

The ONLY target at the table should be the pot.

Wally, do you really let players at a poker table get you pissed off to the point you think about targeting them??

I believe you are a successful poker player. I honestly do. It surprises me after reading some of this though.

You should never allow ANY emotion to affect you at the poker table. You seem like a guy that can be put on tilt easily, Wally. I mean no offense by that.
