I have been informed that when my current contract with the Ontario Government is up they have no intention of renewing. That is May 1, 2012. SOOOOOOOOO, while I have been applying for shit to keep working and I personally believe I will get a 5 month extension depending on the outcome of the election, I decided I needed to supplement my income.

Gambling has always been a forte of mine however the on line world seems to be crashing so I have for the last few weeks been playing poker live at Casino Rama. Currently earning 11.50 an hour from this part time gig which I expect to go up once I fully get in the swing of things. Usually playing 3 to 4 times a week for a max of 8 hours when I am there.

So far it has been reasonably consistent with no real big days and only one really bad day (I won't go into the details of the dude hitting a one outter on me). Currently playing 1/2 NL and looking to move to 2/5 NL once I build the bankroll some more.

I figure if nothing comes to pass, then EI here I come while playing poker and looking for a new job. I haven't been unemployed since I was in my 20's so I figure I will take the EI to help guarantee some income.

Wish me luck gamelivers.... I may post some updates on this once I have gathered some real stats. So far it is too early to tell how it is going to end up.

Thanks Muddy, I have several friends who play professionally, was actually speaking with one of them today at Rama. He has given my some pointers to help, because he remembers the time when he looked at me as a good poker player which I still think I am but haven't been working on the skills to much. Now I am working on things, dealing cards at home, working on reading the board (good exercise deal 5 cards out and right down the top 20 hands in order from high to low) etc. Played against 2 people yesterday who had no clue how they telegraph what their cards are. When I called the one guys hand he asked if the cards where marked. Have a long way to go, but should be interesting.

Joe, you probably will think I am off my rocker but I'll say it anyways.

Cards have a flow about them. Yes there is obviously math behind hands and there is always the luck factor but the cards themselves actually have a flow. I have found that playing Gin prior to a poker session really helps me get in synch with the flow of the cards. My biggest winning sessions have come after a couple hours of Gin.

It'll take a little while once you get to the table to get a feel for how the cards are coming but eventually they will speak to you.

Acid Joe best of luck to you!!! You can do it, SIRRRR!!!

Cards have a flow.

Some sessions you will see flushes coming more frequent or straights or small cards running in pairs. It can run like this for the duration of a dealer or sometimes it last until a new setup is put in play. Cards have a flow to them, the key is getting in tune with the flow.

I guess this is advanced play but I never thought it would be too advanced for GameLive pros.
