Strange people living in a strange place. Although it's a very progressive society in most respects, Norwegians themselves tend to be oppressed misfits in social situations unless they're completely hammered so I think death metal gives them another outlet to express whatever. A bunch of rosy-cheeked albinos sitting in a pub at 7pm, sipping their beers so quietly that it's like they're afraid to make a noise. And then by 10pm they're screaming out lyrics to these songs and thrashing around the bar. I've never experienced anything like it.
