I recently threw my e-cig away. Didn't do anything for me.

I just need a nicotine inhaler of some sort. Those vapor cigs seem harsh on the throat too.

If what you had didn't do anything (I presume you mean it didn't take away the craving as if you had just smoked) then you probably just need a stronger version of the liquid nicotine. And as to the harshness, they're nowhere near as bad as a normal cigarette; it's just the side effect of inhaling nicotine - the e-cigarette itself is just a glorified nicotine inhaler as it is.

Wtf is an e-cig? Does it have something to do with 2nd life?

:lmao:

I tried using the most potent cartridges. I just didn't like it. The chemical they put in there to make it harsh like a cigarette burned my throat and I'd have to suck on the thing for about 3 seconds to get the same size hit I'd get off of a normal drag from a regular cigarette. I'd rather get rid of the habit anyway. The e-cig seems to only support it.

couldn't taper if i tried...

No me neither. All these methods don't feel right to me. They're like hanging on to bits of the habit, leaving a prolonged opening to jump back in. At least that's how I think it would go for me, knowing how my mind works.

My attitude was I just wanted to get rid of it and be done. So cold turkey.

i have always tried cold turkey and failed. the patch gave me too much nicotine and irritated my skin, the gum i didn't like, etc...

going to try the methodone route in november

smoking is getting too expensive

I like the gum, I think what I like most about it is the constant flow of nicotine. After a while it has bad effect on my body though.

It's not that bad of a substance in your body, probably no more harmful than caffeine but similarly not very good to have in large doses. The gum is dire, though. Can't stand the taste of it (which must be the nicotine since the fruity gum flavors are still gross).

Why do they put artificial sweeteners in gum? Why Polaroid? It's a fucking conspiracy.

It's to stop your teeth rotting. You can buy sugared gum if you want rotten teeth, though.

Nicotine can cause heart disease, Polaroid.

Reputable source, if you please. I just scanned Wikipedia, like any good doctor would, and the only mention is relating to it being a vasoconstrictor which is common with any stimulant whether it be cocaine or caffeine. Admittedly, a greater concern is inhaling a nicotine liquid which might have been made in China.

It supposedly contributes to hardening of the arteries...

It doesn't harden the arteries but as such but if you're ingesting nicotine (or your other stimulant of choice) then it can make it more difficult for the blood to flow through your arteries, especially if it is clogged up to start with.

Is that Lefteye Lopes in your avatar?

I truly hate being around smoking and I understand nicotine addiction completely but do you ever see those people puffing away on those e-cigs and just think it looks totally ridiculous?

MF'er, beat it guy, beat the shit out of those cigs.

Kato, free yourself.

No, but then I'm one of them but I think it's a lot less ridiculous (in so many ways) than smoking real cigarettes. Does it look any more ridiculous than someone drinking a coffee in Starbucks to get their particular stimulant fix?
