I'm seeing this type of guy in the logo holding a hammer, with a roof incorporated somehow. Like he's on a roof of has a roof hat....something.

Here are some ideas that I have bandied about:

Under Brown’s Roof
Halo Roofing
Licensed to roof
Above all roofs
Rooftacular
Worry free roofing
Word of mouth roofing
New age Roofing
Only one roof

I think Halo Roofing has something. It has good visual elements to work with for a logo, is simple, vivid and easy to remember. Although, the domain is already taken.

New Age Roofing?

no

no

Just been brainstorming, New Age will be removed from the list!

Actually Halo Roofing was my first choice. Has some personal meaning to it.. Spanish translation of my wife's name.

I dont have any suggestions for a name but when ya figure out a name and get ready to have a logo designed I would recommend
http://thelogocompany.net/

they designed my logo and a few other contractors that I know.
only $149 and they will revise it as many times as you like until you find something you want.
orginally they give you 5 different designs and you can choose one or have them rework one, or design 5 more totally different.

the turn around on the designs is quick, customer service is top notch.

good luck with the business.
I also recommend reading " Mark-up and Profit" by Micheal Stone.
alot of good info in that book for contractors and will help if your new to the business side of contracting.

I designed my own website using a 1 yr free Microsoft Office acct. after the yrs up you can renew the domain name for about $30 a yr.

my website is nothing fancy but the only reason I have it is to show potential clients pics of previous work.
gives them an idea of the quality they'll get and not some fly-by-night carpenter.
