in a Christian society...
do all the above religons not have some kind of holidays or ceremonies that they exchange gifts?

So if you don't subscribe to the predominant, man-made, organized religion of choice by the huddled masses in proximity to your residence and don't care to subject your children to mindless brainwashing, you're a "sad, sick individual." Got it. Thanks.

I'm in Ybor...a party district of Tampa. Robyn is taking a bit to get ready...so I went out alone....wearing half my crazy outfit for tonight...including bunny rabbit ears.

So I'm getting ready to leave this bar...and 25 or so waitress comes up and says that when i fist walked in, she loved my rabbit ears and thought they were adorable.

Instead of going with the flow, I went for the jugular.

I said "Yea they're my Jesus ears"

She sais "Jesus ears?"

I said "Yea on Easter Sunday Jesus rose from the dead and laid eggs for all the good boys and girls"

She shook her head no and looked disgusted.

I said "No?"

She said "No."

I said "Well hold on! The eggs were made of chocolate!"

She walked away horrified.

That is a true story btw. lol i was so excited about it I called Robyn right away to tell her!

LOL. How sad is a religion when it has to make up magical bunnies and reindeer to make their other make-believe character (Jesus) enjoyable or interesting?

no, if you deprive your kids of the joys of being a kid than your a sad, sick individual.
but you'll die lonely so dont fret

I believe all the religion shit is simply culture. People, communities, whatever, like to give meaning and purpose to life and their efforts.
Saying you are agnostic (if all it means is that you don't know) is no great accomplishment either. Of course, nobody really knows.
But, I guess it's ok to make up shit, just to make things more interesting. The danger is when you use whatever fairy tales to hurt or keep others down.

You CAN buy your kids gifts and toys without forcing them to believe your precious propaganda, genius. Some people don't need other people or made up bullshit to dictate when they buy their loved ones gifts, Hitler.

That's exactly the problem. Religion breeds intolerance. And where does it start? Fuckin Santa Claus.

Monkey, your preaching to the choir.
I'm no religious nut and dont force religion on my kids, I dont make them go to church like I was as a kid
but that doesnt mean we dont celebrate Xmas.

what does Santa Claus and the Easter bunny have to do with Jesus anyway.

If I'm gonna boycott a holiday, its gonna be Valentines day

So people who don't subscribe to a religion should celebrate religious holidays? What do you tell your kids if they ask what the meaning of Christmas is? And do you think that kids are only subjected to Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny when these holidays come around? If you celebrate religious holidays, it's fairly difficult to say that the religion does not influence you at all.
