Well no one really knows the answer to that, and if there were other planets w/ their own god(s), they wouldn't really apply to us I wouldn't think. I think people are mostly focused on their planet, and their god, as to their knowledge, nothing else outside of that affects/effects them. It doesn't pertain to them, so why should they care of even contemplate it? just my opinion.

Because if this was the thinking of all people then we'd be a terribly selfish bunch. If we only cared about ourselves, we wouldn't have gotten involved in WWII and helped beat the Nazi's. I know that is extreme but if you think we shouldn't care about other groups of people, then where does it stop/end. Then why can't Muslims and Jews just ignore each other? It doesn't work like that. It's awfully selfish and close minded to not care about others and what is out there, no?

And if there is only one God and we're the only assholes currently living in the universe, what the fuck is up with all the rest of the spinning shit that's out there? All that wasted energy! You'd think God would get with the times and turn off the other stars when He's not using them.

As it stands, God is not very green.

ill tell you what they do.....

they start calling for lines and placing bets before 9am.... they constantly call/text for lines when they get a free minute away from the family before church... they go to the bathroom at church to check scores, as well as check on the noon 2nd half lines... their families think they have the worst bladder on the planet
 
fwiw, i dont mind prayers...like reno said, people are just trying to help... no matter how completely meaningless i feel them to be...

i facepalm at people asking for prayers... without dumb luck or science, your prayers dont get answered, so im not so sure what anyone elses are going to do for you...

the bible/church is good for kids... it puts unrealistic ideas, that cant be proven, into their heads, but teaches them how to love one another and treat others the way they want to be treated...i think the bible and the teachings can help people become better people, if they dont go overboard with the God notion...fearing something that can never be proven is the very last thing i will ever teach a child that comes into my life

if church/bible/god helps you be a better person and be happy, more power to ya.

Pretty cool. It was popular, so on the weekends the line would go around the block.

We would pre-game on the fire escape and check out the talent in line.

Then walk down and complain about 'the noise' and the manager would give us free drinks.

Good times.
