Sorry Mr X....It was just a post of Cali praying to any and all Gods for help in her apparently unsatisfying life of which we are all jealous.

I believe that Jesus Christ died at the cross for my sins.

I believe that in the time leading up to his crucifixion (at the hands of the Jews) he led a life free of sin.


I do not know, however, for sure that he was (is) the son of God.



I believe that Mudcats "I do not know" stance has a ton of merit.

If you ever took the time to get to know anything about anyone I would be amazed. I know this is difficult because of the narcissistic traits which you exhibit. Otherwise you would know my situation. It's not a secret. Since you live in Caliworld and care about no one but yourself, let me fill ya in. I have left my home in Denver to care for my mother who is suffering from Alzheimers Disease. Is it a party? No. Does it give me a lot of time to surf the net and hang out with my on line friends? Absolutely. Unfortunately for now, the internet is my connection to the outside world. Would I trade my situation of being able to take care of my mother in her final years..who on some days doesn't know me and who requires 24/7 care for your life? Hell no. I get to spend time quality time with her. I am well compensated, and I have time for a lot of introspection. Is it ideal? no. Do I post a lot and perhaps too much at times? Absolutely. So since you are looking for my "excuse for not having a life," that's it.

I've never seen someone be so proud of being a bitch as you. There are so many more things I could say but wont, because yes, in fact, I am better than you.

Can you explain the "died for your sins" thing to me, because, despite a long catholic upbringing, I've never been very clear on the subject? I'm completely serious, here. You've got this whole creation of hapless people here, living their lives, not quite sure what's going on, being subjected to every manner of suffering imaginable. And then you've got this son of God, who knows He's the son of God, being subjected to lots of suffering. But, He know's that he's the son of God. He knows that he will sit at the right hand of the Father when it's all said and done. I think I could deal with a lot of suffering if I had that kind of knowledge. What does this all prove, exactly?

I can't explain anything, Mr. X. Because I do not know for sure. I can only tell you what I believe.


For what it's worth, I wasn't a believer while I was being raised a catholic.


It was only until many years later (and breaking away from the catholic church) that I became a believer.

Fair enough. I do wish someone would explain this "died for your sins" thing to me in a way that makes sense to someone who hasn't had the fortune to be blessed with faith. Or, at least an explanation for why God would bless some with faith and leave others hanging with only reason.

Lots of good questions MrX can I just start calling you x? I have to start conserving keystrokes. As quick as I am to defend my faith I really take comfort in the biblical passage about "faith as a mustard seed" because I often feel like I am hanging onto that faith by a string. I grew up in a Christian household and would check "Christian" on a form if asked, but I sometimes feel I am one of those people who are afraid to question things for fear of finding the whole foundation of my world would come tumbling down. At times I have felt I would have made a better Jew. I absolutely believe in God but I have a lot of questions too...but I figure that at the very least I do have the "faith as a mustard seed" thing going on for me and take comfort in that. I think Jesus understands. Why are some blessed with faith and why do some have to work at it? Why are some "blessed?" maybe with doubt. I don't know. I really should not try to talk religion after little sleep and an ambien. Maybe we can take it up tomorrow. All I can remember now is the concept of Universal Salvation from Religion 100 at school. I think I'm going to take another ambien and hope for some vivid dreams that can clear this all up for us. I'll get back to you.

Cami personally cant stand seeing the two side by side. It sullies common sense. Im sorry.

I mean, keep the religion but just take the god and jesus stuff out of it (aka the stuff that fanatics sight when justifying their acts atrocities) and teach only its ideals and behaviours it promotes towards fellow human-beings.

Im no religious person but i largely agree with the bibles teachings. Just leave jeebus and god (aka those that arent their to speak for themselves) out of it...

Oh man, I totally missed this post yesterday. I see your point. What gets me are the religious crusades. like really?! Common.

I do agree in most of the teachings of the bible, be kind to one another, don't steal, so on and so forth. I mostly refer to how things came to be. How did it all start, if it hasn't existed all along with no start or end.

ok guys,

we are one tiny planet in an infinite universe. If we have one god for our planet, then what about the other planets? What about other galaxies? Are you saying we are the only advanced mammals in all the galaxies in space? If you can agree that perhaps somewhere out there there may be another earth like planet, then who is their god? Do they have the same or different?

This time I really would like to know what religious fanatics have to say about other planets in other galaxies

Well no one really knows the answer to that, and if there were other planets w/ their own god(s), they wouldn't really apply to us I wouldn't think. I think people are mostly focused on their planet, and their god, as to their knowledge, nothing else outside of that affects/effects them. It doesn't pertain to them, so why should they care of even contemplate it? just my opinion.
