I don't think Tallion will be a frontline starter that soon. He's freaking 19.

Do you know how many #1 draft picls fizzle out in the minors, or never reach the potential they showed at 18? Lets see him put up numbers for 2 or 3 years in the minors (like Teheran) and then come talk to me about him.

Fuck Fangraphs. if you're a Pirates fan, you have seen potential studs come to Pittsburgh for 20+years now. Here is a chance to buil on what they have. More 'potential' all-stars don't fill the seats. Pitt is in a position to take on payroll and they need to show their fans that.

But taking a player from a team 20 under .500 will solve the problems. Easy to build stats when your team sucks. See Adam Dunn for further reference.

Depends on the player Archie. If you're 2 out on July 31 and someone like Carlos Pena is available. Let's also say they are in a fight for the WC with Atl and SF. Does Pitt mgmt stand up and offer an prospect or do th safe thing and tell their fans we have a lot of prospects? Me thinks they go the safe route.
