Ima argue that genocidal political leaders are evil regardless of social norms/context. We should be able to hate each other without pulling out the guns/machetes/gas chambers on a specific ethnic group.

Other than that it's all relativistic shades of fokked-up.

The conundrum is that they think that they are actually doing good for society and so do their followers. It really goes back to self interest.

mf- i am a little busy this morning, so pardon the quick reply - hopefully you'll get the gist of my thought

take the general motors scenario (not an evil argument)

one side

bad-gov't shouldn't get involved, bad investment (looks like the US will not come out whole from the investment)

good-jobs saved-created-landmark company and reputation saved

whatever the decision made (good v. bad) totally depends on the perception of the person arguing the thought

There again, that's your perception though. The others may see justification just as many leaders of countries send their troops to war.

"War" is typically meant to defend assets more or less proactively (more, in the case of Americans ). Genocide is typically based on irrational ideas, on the thought that the other group is a nuisance/hindrance to one's identity. It's a stupid fokken thing to spend money on - s'just not productive.

Evil.

Right, kato. That's my point. Evil is simply subjective.

Care to cite a genocide which falls under this category?
