Eric Dickerson's single season rushing record of 2105 yards has stood since 1984.

Peterson needs 294 yards in his final 2 games which are against Houston and Green Bay.

Peterson seems to be getting stronger as the season goes on - and there is no sign that Minnesota is going to suddenly get pass oriented. He will get his touches.

Still, Ima say no.

will be very interesting as they are on the big playoff bubble as well.

could be within say 150 yards on the last game, but need a win vs GB to make the playoffs and come 4th quarter Peterson could have say 125 yards but Minny could be down 31-14 in the 4th with 10 mins to go and have to just start flinging the ball

Yap.

Always the possibility of injury too.

Even just looking at it straight up, his yards per game average would not enough to get there - and those are a couple of tough teams who will probably be playing all out.

That's why I'm saying no - but I would not be totally blown away with amazement if he did make it.

do any books have props on it?

I'd say

yes +210
no -250

I think there is a decent chance, based upon his yards per game over the last 8 games. keeping in mind that his first 6 games were SUPER early in his recovery from ACL surgery.

what he has done lately is all the more amazing, since teams are putting 8 and 9 players up near the line to stop him in the last few games and daring the vikings to have Ponder try to beat them.

IMO ALERT

While every back is a vital part of their team I don't think there is any back in the game today who is more of a factor in his teams performance and no back who defenses key on more than Adrian Peterson. When you add in the serious injury he has come back from he is arguably no only the best back in the game today but among the best of all time minus lifetime stats naturally.

Lo and behold, Calvin Johnson - Megatron, if you will - goes and breaks Jerry Rice's single season receiving yards record which has stood since 1995. With still another game to go and the way he is playing, he will probably crush that thing.

I had no idea that was coming. Heard lots of people talk about the rushing thing but not the receiving thing.

I guess that is the pecking order.
