oh damn, i think i'm like pavy when it comes to the 'scary movie' genre, and that is indeed a very scary thought to be like pavy. i'm simply not too impressed by many of these movies, and i think sometimes it's the stunts/special effects that are so frequent, it kind of dulls the effect on me. patty hates watching these movies with me 'cause i'll laugh at some scenes that have her tense.

i've been on edge, and i guess experience fright, while reading books. i think the shining gets a lot of attention because it was simply the best acted of the stephen king stories made into movies. i know there were other books of his that were just as good or better in my opinion, the book of shorts called different seasons has some of my favorite king stories.

Same here. I really think it's an antiquated genre.

A major difference between scary and gory. Scary is hard to come by for me.

1. Poltergeist
2. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original)
3. The Shining
4. Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things
5. Anything starring Carrot Top or Pauly Shore
