dude there's some people that are truly clueless, recently i got an email through the contact form on the bottom of the pages that said i should delete an ad that was on a page, i take a look and it was some spam post from like 2010 that i must have missed, apparently she bought some apple product from the link and got scammed

That letter pisses me off. You know she's wanting to draw attention to herself so WB pays her bills off for her. She didn't get all over Publisher's Clearinghouse as she was apparently filling out all those entry forms. I have zero sympathy for her.

Not only does Warren Buffett gives A TON of money to charitable causes, he actively recruits and campaigns for other billionaires to do the same.
YEAH OHIO LADY..YEAH!

and unlike Denny Sanford he probably doesn't require his name be on everything..maybe he does but he doesn't seem like the type.

Him and the other billionaires could build free hospitals/clinics for everybody. Or build free houses.
Ah, can't do it. It would hurt business.
Can only donate to things that can't hurt business.
What is that exactly? I guess research of some sort. Because when research develops something, business can come in and make a profit from it. hmm. interesting.

I believe WB donates to a variety of causes including homelessness. Yeah, let's not try to cure anything because someone might try to sell a drug. That makes sense. You really can't mean they shouldn't give money for research?

I'm saying that its to a large degree self serving. Not necessarily on a personal level, but my guess is the system is set up in a manner where he couldn't do much substantive because it would step on someones toes.

And yeah, I don't believe there's much need to go on about how noble some billionaire is about giving to charity. In a more just society there would be no need for charity and it wouldn't be up to him. He and the other billionaires know this.

You're right. That's why he is for higher taxes for the wealthy

“The interesting thing is that the tax code, I wouldn’t call it a war, but it is a struggle. Groups try to keep their own taxes down. People lobby to keep their estate taxes down. They lobby to keep their capital gains taxes down. So, if this is a war – I wouldn’t call it a war, I’d call it a struggle – but, if this is a war, my side has had the nuclear bomb. We’ve got K-Street, we’ve got lobbyists, we’ve got money on our side in terms of lobbyists. Deb does not have a lobbyist. She doesn’t have anybody remotely that’s representing her. But, believe me, plenty of rich families have lobbyists that are working like crazy to get rid of estate taxes, lower capital gain taxes, whatever it may be. So, if there has been a war going on, the war has been waged by the people who are very well to do who are trying to shift the burden onto people like that and away from themselves.”

that focking commie, stating the obvious

Eike Batista is broke

Eike Batista, who has plummeted from being ranked the world's eighth richest man in March 2012 to having a "negative net worth", according to Bloomberg.

Eike, a Brazilian who had made $30bn from oil and gas exploration, lost it all when his company, Oleo e Gas Participacoes, filed for bankruptcy protection in October. Four years ago he had boasted to Forbes magazine that he would become the world's richest man.
