Wally what would you do in this situation

Ok so the other night I'm in Walmart during a small night rush. They were understaffed as they always are and I had under 20 items so I went to the express line. I waited a bit. Among my items was a pair of cheap sunglasses (I've resorted to cheap ones because I always end up losing or breaking any sunglasses that I buy). Anyway it is my turn and she rings a few items up. She picks up the sunglasses and I am waiting for her take out the slicer thing they use to take the antitheft shit off but she doesn't, she just throws them in the bag. I'm like "aren't you going to cut that off?" She says "oh no, it just slides off". At that very moment I knew she was full of shit, she knew she was full of shit, and most importantly she knew I knew she was full of shit. so my decision is this - do I force the issue, and force her lazy ass to 1) take out her slicer and cut off the antitheft device or more likely 2) force the issue and make her call for someone to bring the slicer she does not have at her station to her, to the dismay of all the people now behind me in line who are already disgruntled because they are understaffed.

Wally I might as well have bent over right there and said go ahead, give it to me, no lube because I said that's fine and then took them home and had to cut the antitheft shit in 3 pieces with a decent sized army knife I have.

I'm thinking this would not have been the result if it was you, but I do want to know how you have handled this particular situation as I do feel like I didn't properly stand up for myself.
 
Steve/'s it's hard to say for sure what I would have done.

First off though, I would not be in the express isle with more than clearly marked 10 Items or Less. I would be in the isle next to that one pissed off as a sumbitch cause the lady in front of me has a coupon for everything in her cart.

Most likely I would have not paid for any of the items at all and just walked out. The cashier in question probably wouldn't be the one to have to restock the items but she definitely would have to correct her register. Naturally the poor patrons waiting in line would be further delayed and the cashier would say nasty things about me to the next one in line but by that time I am on my way and I don't care.

You can be sure that pissed or not though I would offer assistance to someone who needed a jump in the parking lot cause unlike the Target shopper us redneck WalMart'rs lend a hand.
 
Yeah just a fucked up situation. I definitely respect your anticipated coarse of action but I needed that Porterhouse, I just did. It was too late to go anywhere else and I was starving. For the record it was a 20 or less aisle so I was not in the wrong there.

Man but on the 10 or less aisle there was this little family with like 40 items and the cashier was happily ringing them up, it was obvious they were friends or family or something. Wally you should have seen them basking in it, so smugly as at that very moment they finally had what everyone else wanted; right down to the attitude of superiority the ten or so year old portrayed.

If I could take one of those glass crusher things at that very moment and crush them into tiny bits of....whatever it would end up being I would have and I would have poured it all over the cashier who couldn't just be courteous enough to let my fucking sunglasses go.
