thanks

I think BP over-estimates the Pirates

their pitching is gonna fall apart in a month...... they are all gonna have dead arms AND regress to the mean in August....

The starters are way over-worked....

In all seriousness the trade deadline could be great for a few teams that are in position to just sell sell sell.... I guess that is the dodgers, astros, cubs, Balty.....

but really technically NO ONE is out of it....

but hey, for the return you might get in this market... unless you are KC you gotta be listening hard to offers.

I'd actually like the Pirates to Be sellers come the end of July to be honest

no way we sell anyone that is not on the last year or two of arbitration

we are locking McCutch up this year...... still have him for 3 more years anyways

up for sale

Hanrahan
Doumit
Snyder
Overbay
Garrett Jones
Ronny Cedeno
Paul Maholm for a steep price
Jeff Karstens (selling high)
Jose Veras
Matt Diaz

basically we wanna get rid of all salary and vets that suck.... anyone desperate enough to take them? I think in this market Maholm could get ALOT, as could Hanrahan

as a Pirate fan this year is fun. but I still have my eyes on 2013 to be honest

also we have a lot of blocked players in the high minors

Archie, you're out of your fucking mind. We KNOW who Paul Maholm is. He aint getting shit on the market. Maybe a AA prospect. You're not getting 2 MLB ready guys and low minors prospect. And why would you want ta reliever?? The buyers aren't usually giving up their MLB bullpen arms anyway. OR were you talking about ANOTHER minor league arm. So is that FOUR arms for Paul Maholm??

Archie, step your game up pal.

not two major league arms.. two major league ready position players

we want power AA and AAA corner outfielders

do you not follow the demand for good lefty starters at the trade deadline?

do you not realize the ratio of buyers and sellers this year?

Archie, I'm not following this particular market but I know MLB GM's aren't jizzing themselves over Paul Maholm. He wouldn't make a playoff team's rotation. If a team is already at that level, they've got 3 or probably 4 better/equivalent starter on their staff. Please tell me one "buyer" who Paul Maholm would be the 3rd or even 4th best starter for? And don't try to sell me on his great 2 months, like I said we KNOW who Paul Maholm is.

he doesn't have to make a playoff rotation

he has to be a solid 5th starter for a team that WANTS to get in the playoffs

he is a lefty which makes him 2x more valuable

look at the standings

85% of the league is still in contention and gonna try to load up...

meaning its a sellers market

that is why I hope the Pirates SELL SELL SELL SELL

as this isn't their year yet..... I hope they don't get caught up in this current winning streak and actually try to aquire or not unload some useless commodity

especially relievers...

relievers are a dime a dozen

and one year they are great but the next they suck

the Brewers would love a guy like Joel Hanrahan

but i'm sure the pirates would never do business with them....

I'm not letting you off the hook on this Archie. Tell me one team you think might be interested in Maholm. And I'll tell you exactly what you are going to get from them.

That lefty is 2X more valuable thing is a myth too, imo.

I made 2x up out of my head

but you can't say its a myth that they aren't MORE valuable than a righty with the exact same stats

you might not agree in your opinion

but MLB GM's Agree in spades

every year
