I like his voice a lot and I listen to his American Recordings series quite a bit.

But common. Let's be real here.

Next to Zep and The Beatles, he looks like a deluxe flea-market act.

:hides:

nah, i agree (i actually would've preferred kenny rogers or willie nelson as far as how loudly i sing when their songs come on shhhhhh)

i don't think zep should be there at all... once i killed elvis, the whole list was kind of tainted for me

and madonna being the only female was kind of hard... i loved her way back when but i'd have preferred ella fitzgerald or etta james or aretha or blondie representing the ladies

i'm happy to see the beatles get through...

saw a thing on the morning news today that it's been 50yrs since the beach boys got together so now they're doing a world tour

fifty years wigged me out

oh and cougs, in case i haven't said it yet, ty for this game

it's made me search out a lot of artists and specific songs that i haven't thought of in ages or even heard of before...first thread i look at when i log on these days... pretty cool :)

I'm not a huge Zep fan but I appreciate their craft. They were way out there as far as musical exploration goes and they're all extremely skilled musicians. Jimmy Page is kinda sloppy but he's pretty much the quintessential guitar hero.

The Beatles should be taught in school. It's easy to completely dismiss them as this cutesy pop group but they came up with so much shit that's taken for granted today, and they were the first rock/pop band to sort of bridge the gap between popular and savant music (in part thanks to George Martin.) Paul McCartney is a genius composer (but one heck of a lyrical faggot.)

1) Johnny Cash [48]
2) The Beatles [151]
3) Led Zeppelin [177]

I'm not the biggest Beatles fan but looking back at the list the top 2 groups seem to have risen to the top! MJ, Elvis, Madonna (OK Oskana) I don't consider groups!

Unless there is a sudden surge of Rage from the Rednecks things will work themselves out!
