My guess is he could've successfully jump started your car if he would have let it charge for a few minutes and made sure the connections were solid. While your car is connected to his battery it is charging.

Well he let it charge for like 20 minutes(tow guy) but no go....but the good news is WE HAVE RESOLUTION!!!

The people who put in the new battery (and then took back out) just called. Now they say that the old battery is fine...it was just drained because there was some backseat light on somewhere (no clue how this happened) but it is working and said should be no need to get it replaced from Batteries Plus. There is also no charge for anything.

He said that the tow company may not have been equipped to get it charged with the drain (light being on) or so dead that they couldn't do it. In any case, it's fixed. I have to pay nothing, and thanks to the game live thinktank, I am more knowledgeable about car batteries than ever before.

Now I just have to think about getting out in 16 below weather and getting the car.

If all of your trips are VERY short, it can be a problem. You can use more energy starting your car than you gain back by charging during the drive.

lol or both. Yes...4 days a week I drive usually but might be 6 miles round trip max...I just need to get out on the highway and drive it more I guess...especially when it's this cold.

6 miles round trip is plenty. You only run into problems if you use a car to commute, like, a 1/2 mile or something stupid like that.

Cold slows down chemical reactions.

Weird. What kind if car do you drive? Never heard of a back light by driver's side before. It's usually centered for the back seats.

I thought it was weird too ....I didn't even look really. It's my dad's old 2000 Buick LeSabre ....Limited I think..whatever that means.
