Totally agree that 110 is not that fast in a Porsche.

With that said, it's REALLY hard to recover from a blow out when you're doing anything over 80. Also, it's really hard to recover in a turn if you take a bad line into one. Essentially, it's REAL easy for an average/below average driver to make mistakes while going over 90 MPH (sort of pulling that number out of a hat but hopefully you get my point.

I guess what I'm getting at is, crashing your car doing 110 MPH does not necessarily equate driving under the influence. Lots of things can go wrong @ 110.

*It should be noted I'm NOT suggesting that a tire blow out was the cause of this crash.

He was going 130

Police: Ryan Dunn Crashed at 130 MPH

6/21/2011 11:15 AM PDT by TMZ Staff

Ryan Dunn was doing 130 miles-per-hour in his Porsche at the time of the horrible crash that killed the "Jackass" star and his passenger -- this according to West Goshen police.

Police Chief Michael Carroll told reporters an accident reconstruction team determined the speed of the crash after inspecting the accident scene. Officials say Dunn's car collided with a guardrail at high speed, crashed in the woods and burst into flames.

According to Carroll, the crash was catastrophic -- claiming he's "never seen a car destroyed in an automobile accident the way this car was ... even before it caught on fire."

Carroll called the accident the "worst" he's ever seen ... by far.

Bottom line the guy is an idiot, I don't care what your mental state is in terms of drugs/alcohol, going 130 on a public street is an idiotic thing to do and the only person I would possibly feel sorry for is the passenger and any innocent victims.

The driver in this situation is an idiot, there is no debating that. RIP Jackass

And there is nothing wrong with what Ebert said, or anyone says, regarding this incident. You put yourself in that situation by acting like a fool.

The Chester County Coroner’s Office has confirmed to EW that Jackass star Ryan Dunn, 34, and his friend Zachary Hartwell — a production assistant on Jackass Number Two — died of accidental “blunt and thermal trauma” due to yesterday’s early morning accident, in which Dunn’s 2007 Porsche careened into a patch of trees in the Pennsylvania town, then burst into flames. A toxicology report, however, is not yet complete, so questions over Dunn’s blood alcohol level will not be resolved until the full autopsy report is released likely within six weeks. Dunn tweeted a picture of himself drinking just hours before the accident.

I'm all for responsible drunk driving, but driving recklessly, deliberately is a no no. Daffy these are the kind of fucks that you cops should be looking for. Not some poor sap who had a fucking beer or didn't make a "complete stop" or looked suspicious. I'm always surprised how speeding gets a pass.

Right Reno because there aren't any cops out there enforcing speeding and aggressive driving.

:rolls eyes:

Common Reno you're smarter than that

Hmm. I can drive better 30 MPH over the speed limit than half of the people out there do at the speed limit.

In fact, riding bikes got me in the habit of speeding so I could get in front of all of the idiots rather than behind them. The last thing I need is some asshole on a cellphone/not paying attention/swerving for a fucking cat to sideswipe me while I'm on the highway. I'd much rather be in front of a bunch of cars than alongside them or behind them. I know I'm not going to crash on my own. It's the other people that are the danger.

Perhaps you're right.
I don't know what the fuck they're enforcing, (I'm not a speeder, but was accused of speeding several times.)
It seems like I constantly hear all kinds of hype about drunk driving. The lowering of limits, the hundred days of heat, over the limit, under arrest, blah, blah, blah. Nothing about speeding.

That's not saying much since your talking Las Vegas. That town has the worst drivers.

Yes it is the other people that are the danger, that's why I don't want them approaching traffic at 30 mph faster while I'm in there. If there's no traffic then fine.

I get speeding tickets every fokken time I'm in the States. USA cops are pretty strict. Up here 119km/h is tolerated (100 limit). That's 12mph over the limit. Doing 77 in a 65 zone gets you a ticket every time in the land of the free.

Them new cars can safely cruise at 80. Unless you're a lunatic or a retarded driver.
