alcohol is a depressant in itself. therefore if you are having anxiety/depression issues it will only make it worse.

Additionally, it turns off our natural instinct (what we hopefully learned sober growing up)...that life is all about sharing our experiences (the good and the bad) with people we care about. Nothing more...nothing less.

I don't like sharing my deep, dark secrets with anyone, I don't care who or what they are to me. I have done it before, but I don't like it.

You know, when times get bad....and they do for all of us from time to time....I vent and then get the fuck over it. There is a solution to every problem, whether it be getting the fuck over it or sticking a gun in your mouth. But I don't condone the latter.

stevek is easily one of my favorite posters on here or sbr so this struck a chord with me

One of two things needs to happen asap Steve:

You need to talk to a professional or

You need to begin a vigorous exercise program that does not include drinking alcohol.

Have you spoken to your fiancee about this steve?

I like Daft but he is wrong.

Do not talk to a professional. They are overpriced pieces of shit. They do nothing of any value.

Maybe exercise, eat a little better, get some more sleep. But why stop drinking? Why stop doing something that brings pleasure to your life.

steve I'm here to help.

Situational mood swings aren't disorders. That's my point. An actual doctor will be able to tell the difference between the two.

Dependent on the course of the disorder. Situational depression can qualify as an adjustment disorder. Depression over a specific time-frame, whether endogeous or exodogeous, is depression, the source affects prescription for treatment.
