So they really sing You'll Never Walk Alone at British soccer matches. What an unusual and slightly comical song for that.

Pink Floyd put a little clip of that in one of their songs and that was many years ago (the Meddle album I believe) and all this time I have never known what to make of it.


I guess now I know what to make of it. It's a thing.

Someone told me yesterday that Jodi Foster "came out" during the Golden Globes - and walla she's gay.

I thought I already knew that.

Makes me wonder how many other things I know that maybe I don't.

Fearless, by the way, is the Pink Floyd song which has a clip of a crowd singing YNWA.

It came to me.

Only Liverpool and Celtic sing YNWA before matches, among British clubs. Liverpool were the first to adopt the song as their anthem, after it reached #1 on the UK charts. Gerry Marsden, an avid Liverpool supporter, presented the legendary Liverpool manager Bill Shankly with a recording, and it was then decided to be adopted as the club anthem.

Following that, plenty of clubs in Europe, and subsequently in the world, adopted the song as their anthem.

Personally, this is the best You'll Never Walk Alone rendition in my opinion:

Not the full clip, but singing it when your team is getting destroyed in a major Cup final? That is class.

I am attempting to make peameal bacon from scratch. It has been soaking in a brine for the last 3 days. Today it comes out of the brine and gets rolled in cornmeal. I hope it tastes ok, eh? Final product should look like this and have a nice mild salty/ clove-y taste... Good luck to me!

I hope it turns out; The secret is this stuff called Prague Powder #1; it is a preservative that helps the meat stay pink after soaking in a brine for 3-5 days.. I'll post a picture after I get it all together...
