I use HP Simplepass with a fingerprint reader.

He can also write them down on a piece of paper but have them encrypted. For example I chose my passwords by writing them down in Greek encrypted with each Greek letter being equivalent to an English letter so if someone finds that paper he will have a hard time knowing what the hell is written in Greek.

I'm a computer guy so that method isn't for me, but whatever works man power to ya!
