The Olympics coverage is boring. Show the events live. If we can't watch them live we know how to use a DVR. And get rid of the dumb down commentary. We know that if someone is second on their swimming race they didn't win gold but silver.

An NBC spokesman said they treat the games like a reality show. The human interest stories are more important than the outcomes. Obviously the coverage is geared to women in prime time.


Wished I lived 150 miles closer to canada, I would watch CBC coverage instead.

I had a long talk with my wife about that. Do you care more about how good the race was or how did the swimmer who finished fourth met his fiance? I can live without the human stories. I'm pretty sure every athlete who competes has a good story. They didn't qualify for the Olympics without being good.
 
Sauuulty! They have no respect for the viewing public. They feel sport on its own has no merit. It's pathetic. During the gymnastics they wouldn't even show standings during the competition. You couldn't even tell the countries who participated and how close they were till the very end. Apparently they want to take out the drama of the sport itself and replace it with whatever story.
 
I know what you mean reno. When I was in HS I used to watch the Olympics with my dad and we would be just watching the events with very little commentary. For example we would watch the gymnastics from start to finish in the order each athlete from each country competed and compare who did what and how good they were at that event. Watching it on NBC I have no idea who is the best pommel horse gymnast for example because I probably didn't have the chance to see his routine.

they are tired of hearing that they arent as good as the other olympic team...still throwing up 3s while up by 45 tells me they want to cover every single line...food for thought

meh i dont think they know nor care what the spread is. imo they are chucking up 3s up 45 and with a minute left in the game because they can/they are just having fun in an essential exhibition game.
 
every college and pro athlete i have ever had a discussion with says the same thing...every player, coach and official involved know at least the morning paper line... but yeah, i think tonight, they were just having fun and getting their indi pts. in... middles getting hammered
