Hah, I knew they were POSs then. I just figured they deserved the benefit of the doubt, a shot, they never did me wrong, always had my back, and I dropped them a few times, and then they always ended up back in my life one way or the other.
Lets just say, I have not always used good judgment, even when my gut tells me other wise.
After the shit I've been through, and in part to Steve, I have opened my eyes, and really saw them for what they are,
and so I chose to no longer allow that in my life, ever.
No more chances or benefit of the doubt. I am growing accustom to a better lifestyle that I should have pursued from the get-go, but it
is what it is, life goes on, and I have moved on, gotta grow up at some point and take out the trash, so to speak.

this.

There is no "solution" to drug addiction. There will always be addicts and a market for drugs.

Why does America always immediately seek to "punish"?

After giving this some though, I agree in part.
I do not seek to "punish" anyone, and there is no solution, and trash will always be there, there is no way to stop, as nice as the thought is. This does not, however; change my thoughts or beliefs that it is wrong, and I do feel like those that abuse the system should have some sort of consequence. I mean what ever happened to every action having an equal and opposite re-action, shouldn't that apply to this?

Private prisons. Plommer pal, they got this shit all worked out. If there were no poor drug addicts or otherwise desperate people they'd create them. ...and they do

Drugs get politicians elected, fund research, fund police departments through grants and seizures and are the primary reason for the over-crowding and need to facilitate new revenues for prisons.

An end to drugs would mean fewer crimes resulting in smaller police presence resulting in the lack of need for the fallacy platform “get tough on drugs”, as well as having a negative economic effect.

Drugs though and drug addicts are not the only drain on the welfare system. There are non-illegal drug users taking advantage of what is available. Not just Americans and their system either. I bet there are 1 or 2 Canadians who are perfect fit and capable of working who would rather “vacation” on the sweat of those working.

Yeah, living on welfare is attractive and considered living the dream. Common Wallaay.

Wal for now the Canadian system (social assistance/healthcare) is far kinder to it's citizens than the US model, as a result there are far fewer desperate people here.

The "American dream" as characterized by the media is a fallacy, most Americans are slaves to big business.

Who said living on welfare was the American Dream Plommer? Who said that it was even a moderate standard of living?
Regardless of the amount, any amount received for those not entirely deserving is too much. Now that isn’t to say that I am the one deemed to decide who and what is deserving I have merely given my opinion on the subject.
Plommer, maybe as a Goodwill gesture you can rally support and have Canada open their gates to allow all of America’s welfare recipients (not all just the lazy and addicted ones) come suck on ya’ll tit.

Wally, I am not against your idea except that those people will freeze to death here, pal.

Wal, my point is that there is a cost to society when people are left behind.

Make it harder for people on welfare? Sure go ahead, but be prepared for more problems in the community.
Desperate people have nothing to lose.

Taxes won't go down because of a decrease in welfare, any savings from that will be needed to fund more law enforcement and to build more prisons.

Instead of being proud of being hard on the bums, America should be ashamed that such a rich country has so much poverty.
But Americans don't see it that way. They are actually proud of themselves when they hold a canned food drive or some other similar atrocity :dunno: I find it embarrassing.
It's some kind of a mental block instilled in them from childhood. disassociation of the individual etc... Despite all the fake patriotism Americans really do hate each other.

thanksgiving giveaways are my favorite

America, is in all honesty, too worried about their appearance and saving the rest of the world to fix the problems in their own back yards.
Understandably so, each person is worried about themselves and getting by to worry about any one else. and so the cycle continues,
and we focus on ourselves, and every one, and every thing else.
How can America do a damn thing about world hunger, or war, or famine, or anything else, that occurs elsewhere when they
can't even fix their own problems??

Maybe we should have spent less time fighting a never ending war elsewhere and more time on our own.
Then again, as previously stated by others, such comparatively minute issues will always exist.
In any country.
Every where has their fair share of problems.
In the end, all any individual can do, is their part, be it small or big, to help at the very least, their own community.
Be proactive instead of passive.

because it's not about solving problems, it's about creating problems

cami these sentiments are beyond opinion, it's how the money game works

the world is very ugly dirty cami

best one can do is live outside of it all as much as we can

the cut that i always have in my soul doesn't heal
inevitably it marks me the pain that without you emits
I would like to fly far very far aimlessly
look for a place in this world without hate
live in peace
eliminate the sadness, the lies, and the betrayals
it doesn't matter if the heart
doesn't find what it has sought after
it doesn't matter the time, that it's already too short in the cravings to live
any minute of pleasure will be felt for real
