Dallas Stars sign Michael Ryder and Sheldon Souray to Free Agent contracts.

As well as Vernon Fiddler, Radek Dvorak, and Adam Pardy.

A few of these were coveted players in the Free Agent market. This is a pretty big deal!

Nice to see GM Joe Nieuwendyk isn't sitting around waiting for things to happen. Good day for my boys.

I agree Opie. Stars did good today. Ryder and Souray could end up being big surprises and reviving their careers there.

Souray concerns me, he was in the minors last year and didn't do much. He is banged up quite a bit as well. Big man on the line is never a bad thing, though.

Agreed, but.....basically picked him up for almost nothing on a one-year deal. Nice to at least have his rocket shot from the point. If he reverts back to his prime, awesome deal. If flames out, one and done.

Safe deal for all.

Opie, Souray has to stop dropping the gloves. His wrists are ready to fall off. I think Souray is just primed to show the NHL world that he is still capable of playing a solid role for any team in the NHL.
