I would be surprised if any of these series went any less than 6 games. First on tap tonight is the dreaded #peskysens vs Pittsburgh.

Season series: The Pittsburgh Penguins took all three regular-season matchups from the Ottawa Senators, including the Feb. 13 game in which Matt Cooke's skate cut the Achilles tendon of Erik Karlsson and knocked the all-world defenseman out of the lineup for over two months. The teams have met three previous times in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, all in the first round -- the Senators won in 2007, while the Penguins prevailed in 2008 and 2010.(NHL.com)

Everyone is counting out the Sens and I think that a great argument could be made for them being the biggest underdog in the NHL from here on in. Make no mistake though, Ottawa still has the hottest goaltender in the NHL and a very competent defensive core. Ottawa likes to play a similar game to the Islanders and probably learned a thing to two from watching the tape from that series. The Sens could cause a lot of problems for the Pens if Crosby and company start to play sloppy defense. Pittsburgh has a big question mark in nets and that could be their achilles heel in this series as well if Vokoun loses a game.

I'm not playing a side in this game tonight but think that under 5.5 is a good bet based on the fact that Anderson is pretty solid in net and the Sens usually aren't a high scoring side.

Pittsburgh in 6.

Game 2 - San Jose @ Los Angeles Kings

Season series: The teams split four regular-season meetings, with the home team winning each time. Three of the four games were one-goal affairs, including one that went to a shootout. (NHL.com)

I think that home advantage pays off for Los Angeles tonight.
Niemi has a .937 sv %; and Quick has .944 so far in the playoffs, so I think this series will be under more than over. I think this will be a really tight checking series. I don't know enough about the teams to have any real opinion, but I know that San Jose is usually way better at home than on the road.

Los Angeles in 7
