Broke down and made a purchase while on my business trip. After a 6 year love/hate affair with my Dell Inspiron 6000 with an extremely slow processor, I have moved forward. The accidental apple juice spill a few weeks ago necessitated the change. I was operating sans the 'S' key and with a stuck '1' key.
Felt as though I was being disloyal to Dell because I had such good fortune with it over the last 6 years, but I made the switch to an HP Pavilion dv6. Has core i5 processor and beatsaudio. Has a fingerprint scanner that can be programmed for each finger to take you to your favorite websites. So far the browsing speed alone has been incredible for me. Hopefully it lasts as long as the previous machine.

Those inspiron 6000s were absolute beasts. My mom had one for 5-6 years and I currently have one in my apartment that my cousin gave me to sell. Heavy, but extremely durable. congrats on the new purchase.
