What is wrong with this asshole?

I'm working with a Ph.D. mathematician from Hungary to try to get my MLB runline conversion chart right. I'd never even heard of a "logistic regression" until he showed me a possible solution to estimating the odds of the home team winning by exactly one run, given a game moneyline and total.

And he's gonna put this in a book? I'm pretty sure they teach logistic regression in stats 101 too.

LOL. Yeah. The more I read from Justin the more clueless I really think he is anyway. I think mathdotcom was right about him. My first exposure to that was his thread about CK and SexyMit (a couple of wanna-be touts at the time) making their WNBA plays overnight. If he does release a book, I really doubt it will be anything Earth shattering. I think he gets plays from other people. Ganch and I had a long discussion about him actually.

Yea I remember that thread. The touts with WNBA teasers were somehow affecting his WNBA plays. Lol. Now he's bitching about some covers tout killing his arena football lines, ignoring the fact that pinny is only taking $250 a side on game day -- like it's even worth anyone's time.

Still not particularly thrilled if he puts out a book with conversion charts for derivative bets -- unless of course they are wrong.

LOL. Agreed. The fact that this is the first time he's explored a conversion chart and that he's had to employ a Hungarian mathematician is pretty telling though. There was a thread in the Think Tank that he started about a week back asking what the odds of a home team winning by more than 1 run was if the game was tied in the 8th or beyond. If that's part of his regression logic, his chart may actually be a blessing.

Justin does believe some odd things.

He talks about the value of an NBA half point as if it is the same off of the fishhead magical number of "2" as if it is the same as off of the "7". I posted you couldn't look at it that way and why.

He ignored me.

If he's looked at as an authority people will send him +ev info. (at least this is what he says -- nobody sends me shit, but i'm a giant asshole that knows nothing)

Probably the only way he is gonna get it.
