Many people here WAY overuse the quote function

McB, I used to be over the top about Christmas. As I've gotten older, a few things have happened: I don't have children and I usually spend Christmas alone, stressed or disappointed. When I was dating someone that had children, I loved Christmas. There are just too many surreal expectations, including expectations from family members and friends. I firmly believe in the SPIRIT of Christmas, but I'm also very realistic about what the holidays entail for me.
Whodathunkit?
We are happy to witness your progression. Christmas will never be the same for you tella!

i still have no clue how to post a quote from another thread or from another forum(where its highlighted)

That would be a situation where using the quote function would make sense and probably be helpful. It's when replying to the post directly above, and you are repeating verbatim exactly what someone just finished saying - when only the most historically dense person could not figure out where you are in the conversation - that the quote is a useless blob of spit-up.

But something from another thread/forum? There could definitely be ambiguity. Makes absolute sense to quote and clarify.

Just click Reply with Quote (or whatever the wording) at that post in the other thread/forum, then in the box where you type your answer, you will see that quote. Highlight it and cut it. Paste to where you want to use it now.

Bob's yer uncle.
