Gotta love ol' Don. He fires someone who ends up committing suicide, and his first reaction is to let a teenager drive his car.

I'm not sure I understand the thought process but I like it.

:mrmonkey:

Haven't watched the episode but from what you posted here..............a life ended with the loss of a job so maybe this was his way of giving a life a boost by driving a car. Remember the first time you drove and how "WOW" you felt?

It's just a guess. I tend to make up my own interpretations, that way I'm always right in my mind.

Yeah that's the kind of thing they were shooting for I'm sure. Don makes a symbolic gesture of inspiring and guiding a young life in the face of the ultimate irreversible tragedy he feels some responsibility for. Seeking redemption yada yada.

For my taste, it is too obvious to the point of being heavy-handed. A forced artistic gesture. It really didn't feel like a natural behavior for the character at that moment.

The other false thing to me was just the appearance of it. It just looked fake. It looked like 2 guys in a stationary car on a TV set. I could not help but imagine guys outside the car giving it an occasional jiggle to simulate actual driving conditions. Even the way he reached over to help steer did not seem like it would have much actual effect. So gentle and ineffectual.

Maybe that was just me. :dunno:

We just applied for a job at one of those competing agencies that is often mentioned on the show. They're looking for one of us bilingual Torontonians to work on a hugh account. That would be quite cool, we gotta say. Wish us luck.

I thought you were happy at your current place?

I am, but it would be a nice upward move... anyhoo, I promptly got rejected by their HR drones cause I don't have 4-6 years of agency experience. So I bypassed HR and resent my application directly to the manager who's looking to hire, explaining how my shit was transferable and stuff and how one of my references made the exact same career move I'm trying to make.

I'll probably never hear back.

Gambol.

I'm thinking I might have to go get a Dairy Queen Blizzard to consume whilst watching.

I can't remember the last time I had ice cream of any kind. Gotta put that on the summer to-do list

Very impressed with this season. It's no 1 or 2 but I am happy with and think there was only a couple subpar episodes. The rest were very entertaining. I am sad to watch the cast get split up though. I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of Peggy though. Hoping anyway.
