These guys "need money fof food" right?

We have no street beggars in Estevan, yet.

When I was in the bus terminal in Toronto there was a dude walking around with a sob story asking only women for cash.

He walked up to the young woman sitting next to me and said "excuse me, I've lost my wallet with all my money and ID and was wondering if you could help me out with some spare change so I can buy a bus ticket to get back to Ottawa"

I kept my mouth shut but really wanted to ask him a couple of questions , like - don't you have a single family member or friend that can send you some cash or prepay a bus ticket for you online? Of course he was scamming these ladies, he didn't dare ask men for money 'cause I think he was worried about getting an earful.

Then outside I'm ordering a sausage on a bun and a different guy comes along looking for some money, when I refused he said "so you aren't going to help me?" And I replied "giving you money won't help you" "if you need a meal or a place to stay I am 100% certain that in downtown Toronto there are places people in genuine need can go for assistance".

this is why I rarely give beggars money. If I was broke/hungry I would be pursuing that option.

Reno, I try and have compassion for people but when you see the same guys pull the same shit for years you get tired of it.

I once had a dude come and ask me if I could "lend" him 5 dollars. Without batting an eye my question to him was "what do you need it for and when can you pay me back?" He wasn't prepared to respond.

Another time at 3AM some dude runs up to my car telling me he is broke and stuck at a gas station with his young daughter in the car and needs a few bucks for gas, I offered to drive him to the gas station and fill his tank - he wasn't prepared for my offer and walked away, a few hours later at 7AM same dude runs up to my car at the exact intersection as earlier and I reminded him his act never worked earlier why would I fall for it now?

The truth of the matter is that 99.9% of people with sob stories looking for cash from strangers are just plain deceptive.

One time late at night an obvious skid row dude approached and said "pal, can you spare a few bucks - I really need a drink" and I gave him $5.
I appreciated his honesty and respected his situation in life and didn't have a problem giving him a few dollars, plus he was much older than the young people on the street looking for a handout.

None exist! All of our tiny incomes went towards alcohol and Hungry Howie's pizza. Couldn't afford cameras.

I do have a videotape somewhere of some real artistic type nonsense I made there one day. Wish I could post that somehow.

Yeah, too bad there is no way to convert vhs taped content to a digital format so it could be uploaded and posted online.

Maybe one day someone will invent a way to do this.
