I get that but admittedly, you do not really know a lot of your "friends." You never know when some wack job decides he likes you...a little too much. Lecture concluded. Always fun moving into a new place.

Here CGSF is a local's take on safety of SF! I got from it after carefully reading was just like here at GL, main thing is to PAY ATTENTION!

San Francisco is mostly safe

Ive lived in San Francisco for 5 years now and it is mostly safe. Tenderlon is definitely dangerous ( a friend got punch there) if you don't feel safe in a muni, you can sit closer to the driver, ( I've sit way at the back when the muni wasn't crowded and almost got attack by a drunk man) so really look out at the situations and sitting at the front is way better.

Richmond, sunset, outer Richmond is definitely safe.
height and fillmore is a bit shady.
Japan town is safe.
downtown is safe during the day, at night there'll be a lot of homeless, although most of the time, they don't really bother you.
chinatown is safe during the day, there's a lot of tourist here. beware of pickpockets especially during events, where the street is really crowded.
financial district is safe until 8-9 pm
some areas of market street is quite unsafe, such as between market and 6th street.

my advise is to always stay alert, and that san francisco is pretty much safe. Even areas like tenderloin is actually safe during the day. ( the food around this area is really good, though they close pretty early)
The main thing about san francisco is every two blocks, the atmosphere changes, so the safe and unsafe areas are pretty hard to tell.

Also the atmosphere during the day and night are very different ( such as downtown area, Fillmore, and Market street) So it is better not to walk alone at night, especially when you aren't familiar with the area)

Overall, I have been living in areas that are known for not being too safe (Downtown, Fillmore, O'farrel, ) and I would say that it is actually very very safe.

my advise is to always stay alert

dudes....

life here is.... i don't even know...

i got a bad haircut that needs to be fixed. chris back in nyc has a girl friend. job searching is slow. recruiters are all over me. i've been networking a ton. i'm trying to make friends. i broke my toe (hurts super bad). i have an interview with a major internet company next week and i'm nervous and studying for it. My hair cut is whack. My wall mounted tv fell off the wall last night. Time warner in nyc still thinks i live there and owe them money, even though i've canceled my account, now, 4 times. i miss my bff JL. the food here, so far, isn't up to my nyc standards. the drinks however, are. i met a guy. turned out his name was chris, he was divorced and lives in NYC and was only here on business. *faclepalm*

i have to go get my hair fixed.

i have to go get my hair fixed.
I feel for you. This happened to me 3 weeks ago and I had to go back and get it fixed...seems like h/c ended up costing me well over $100 when all was said and done. It's still not right, but better. Luckily I don't really care here too much in my situation, but I can understand how it would matter in yours. Was this hairdresser recommended to you? Do you think he/she will fix at no cost?
