I've noticed over time there can be serious communication gaps between posters. Sometimes this is due to a particular poster being new and not understanding forum lingo. Other times we have posters who just don't stay hip and still there are times when the poster either doesn't comprehend well.


One of the ares and the first I will address is sarcasm. We have posters who simple don't get it. Sometimes this can be attributed to the deliverer of the sarcasm. Many authors simply don't understand how to relay what is funny to the masses.

Here is a little trick to help you become better at conveying your wit. When I am writing and I want my readers to know I am being sarcastic, witty or simply downright comedic, I laugh to myself after writing it. If I don't laugh to myself then the reader knows I am deadpan serious.

Try this the next time you care to share your funnier side.
