My thinking is if you exercise at the gym, play sports, do yard work, shovel snow, climbing the stairs instead of using the elevator, have sex every other day, etc you can drink as many "non-diet" margaritas.

I like the people at Mcdonald's. "May I have a Big Mac, Supersize Fries, Milkshake with extra whip cream, and a 40 oz Diet Coke."

I say if you like margaritas, have a damn margarita. It's the same sort of shit when you see light mayonnaise. Hopefully your diet is not so restrictive that a tbsp of sryup is going to throw it into chaos.
