Jello, the funeral is Tuesday in Cheasapeak. You going as the repesentative from gamelive?
I nominate shanty. I trust him to answer the questions we all want answered.

Still nothing on the news or in print?
If Joe Blow offs himself, it makes the news. Here you have a fairly prominent figure, at least in his community, and NOTHING in over 24 hours?
Plenty of conspiracy theories out there. Definitely makes you wonder.
What do you think about legislators attempts to prohibit gambling?
Legislators can try all they want to prohibit internet gambling, but they wont be able to do so. They have screwed themselves by allowing for some exceptions to their morality argument, such as allowing people to wager online with parimutuel horce racing. Also, the rising popularity of poker really hurts any chance of them being able to outlaw this industry. Its hard to tell millions of adults that a simple game they play online is immoral. Please dont get me started on how arrogant their position is to begin with. Lets just say Id be willing to place an online wager with any sports book for a limit bet that internet gambling will be around longer than I (so long as a family member of mine can collect, of course.)
As for the lack of media coverage, come on. Media outlets have no obligation to report everything that happens in any given place. They select news based on the amount they need to output, period. News is what they deem to be news. Must not have been a slow enough day.
Peep hasn't posted anywhere in over a week.

What did he do in the past, or what is he alleged to have done, that is so bad and awful?
I was not a huge fan of his. And my opinions don't conveniently change when someone dies as they do with so many people.
I did not know him intimately and cannot speak about his private life. I simply found him to be a typical forum owner who gladly slaps people on the back and calls them friend while cheerfully feeding them bad information in order to get into their pocket. He was a rich guy who would often play angles to separate much poorer, dumber people from their nickels and dimes. Many of the people now clamoring to claim his posthumous friendship, he would have gladly sent to a book he knew was in trouble if there was a few bucks in it for him.
I find some things I saw distasteful but some would just call it doing business.
I could get into more detail from the perspective of a long-time forum person but I suppose it is not the time and maybe I have already said too much. I'm sorry but that was my impression before and nothing has changed the things I have observed.
