His first AAA start is tonight in Syracuse. Sounds like he will be here for a while before the Nationals bring him up...I am excited to see if this kid is the real deal.

I guess he got roughed up pretty good in his last start down in Double A....makes this start even more interesting as he has to bounce back from a bad outing and a move up to Triple A

The atmosphere was electric. It was a sell out crowd which is a big deal for these games...usually they pull in about 3k people. The kid is definitely as advertised.

Not only did he throw 6 shutout innings...and struck out 6. He had 2 RBI at the plate.

Rumor has it that he will be in town until July. If they don't bring him up to the majors until then, they get an extra year on his contract....so it would make sense for the Nats.

Yes, that is the case. They are not bringing him up yet to make sure he does not fall into the Super Two category of rookies and they have to pay him an extra year of arbitration. The eligibility of a Super Two is complicated but it would seem that the start of June is the best estimate of when he'll be promoted to the majors.
