Asshole cops are a little more of a menace than say a busboy with a bad attitude.
PS: I've known Hell's Angels members that never had criminal records and had stellar credit - these are not predictors of future bad behaviour.

Appears to be a case of two wrongs don't make a right? Guy lied to cop (NO NO) and cop had previously history of shooting someone in the head (bad shot or wanted to kill him?)
Cop might be over the top but was asked nicely bout living there and guy lied! FU you dude and glad to see you got fuked up! What do you think, cops are out playing games? Sure, being lied to is a great reason to beat the shit out of someone.
Cops get lied to all the time, usually they investigate further instead of taking a persons word for it, unless its convenient not to.
The guy lied then he told the truth, the cop chose to believe the lie as it was more convenient.
When the victim was getting pounded he told the cop he did in fact live there, the cop chose not to belive him, sending the message that no matter what you say the cop will do what he chooses.
Guys here are missing the point that the dude was not doing anything illegal and was standing on his own property, the cop decided to behave badly. Cop gets 99% of the blame here, its quite simple.
Cops are held to a higher standard, you know, they have good credit and no felony convictions.
Fucking heroes, every last one of them.

I agree Plommer! Guy when he lied deserved what he got!:

At least this cop will get what he deserves and it will cost the police (ie taxpayers) some cash to settle the lawsuite.
If this hero cop does get jail time I'd be willing to wager alot of money he won't be laying beatings on anyone inside, he WILL need to be protected, what a tough guy.
