It has been in the back of my mind for awhile but last night's episode with the heavy-handed dream sequences was really painful. It showed a sad desperation for ideas.

I have watched it from the beginning and have enjoyed it. I would never call it one of the all-time great shows - it has always been very formulaic - but they did enough with the characters to inject a good measure of comedy/intrigue and keep me watching.

But I'm really thinking now that they have done all they can do. The relationship with Cuddy - ugh. So he's going back on drugs? Fine but we've seen it. Taub's marriage breaks up and he goes to live with Foreman? Really? That's what you're giving me?

And this Masters character - not working.

I doubt it can be salvaged.

Yeah. I used to record or download new episodes, but no more. They've milked the series and they need to end it. They don't know what to do with the formula anymore and they're trying to go around it without really getting rid of it. The previous episode had the patient die early so they could go back to their boring personal side plots.

:bashing:

It's quite funny when you watch that show on your computer - House always figures out what's wrong with the patient around the 37th minute (out of 42-43.)

Yeah I am on an episode by episode basis now. One more like last night and I am definitely out. It made me a bit angry.

It has finally run its course and the series finale is tonight.

I have kept watching it despite its post-shark condition. Not every episode but most. There is all kinds of soap opera-ish shit to muck about with tonight. Is House going to prison? Is Wilson going to get treatment for his cancer? Is the bizarre trollish Asian going to get nekkid?

Maybe House will kill himself. If I was a writer, I think that's what I would do. Go radical with it.

2 hour episode I believe. Don't know if I will watch it all at one sitting but maybe.

ill be glued to it... one of the most fascinating tv characters of the last 10 yrs imo... tv shows that just decide to kill off characters and then end the show is so cliche now though  ...

i dunno who has kept up with Greys Anatomy, but they are apparently doing the same thing...put everyone in a plane last week and crashed the fuck out of it...lose half the cast that way... horrible garbage...

Hmm. I didn't know there was going to be this self-congratulatory docu-pre-show. I wonder if it is part of the 2 hour episode or there is a whole 2 hour episode after it.

When it started I thought, Well okay maybe this will be interesting.

Unfortunately it's not. There have been a few memories of plot arcs that I hadn't thought about for awhile - so that's okay - and of course there have been some very attractive girls who are always nice to look at. But that aside, it is startling how uninteresting they have managed to make it.

is it worth starting the series from the beginning? I'm pretty sure it is on netflix and we are running out of things to watch.....

Personally I would say no. If I have a set of DVD's - and I imagine it would be the same effect with Netflix - I watch bunches of episodes in a row. I will watch a whole season of Breaking Bad or whatever in like 4 days.

With House, I can't see watching more than one episode a week. It is SO formulaic.

But then I did watch most of the series so how can I say that? I don't think I will ever watch a rerun but there was something that kept me coming back.
