I can't stand one of my wife's sisters. What a rotten cunt. The husband of another of her sisters is a fucking asshole. I'd love to punch him in the face. I had to put her mother in her place a couple times, but she turned 80 yesterday so now I just tolerate her as much as I can.

Do any of you have issues with the in-laws?

Matty, now that you're a dad do your common-in-laws bug you? Does the common-mudder-in-law tell you how to hold your son? Is she trying to tell you how to be a parent?

My in-common-laws are so square, uptight and bottled up, I can't help but make fun of them all the time. They met JL yesterday and it was the usual mix of awkward and unspoken emotion.

They frustrate me more than anything. Harmless people.

Their most common comment so far has been "we didn't have that back then" (about the stroller, high chair, pacifier-thermometer, RESP. etc.)

Grandma wouldn't even look at me while I was taking pictures. Very self-conscious.

You seem liek a decent cat, mon ami. Do you think they do not like frenchies? Maybe they can't make you out. When they visit you, just get on the phone and speak french. That should do the trick and keep them away.

You seem like a decent cat, mon ami. Do you think they do not like frenchies? Maybe they can't make you out. When they visit you, just get on the phone and speak french. That should do the trick and keep them away.
 
They don't relate to me one bit. They're small-town Protestant folks. For their daughter to have a child out of wedlock with a foreigner is a bit unsettling to them, but they're trying their hardest to keep their cool.

It took them over a month to meet the kid in person cause they would not drive down to Toronto in "this weather". My dad made the trip through a fokken snowstorm from Montreal, making them look like even bigger chumps.

Whatever.

Harmless small-town folks.

Every family has it's problems, that's for sure. So long as they don't interfere with your relationship and your family life then it's not so bad.

I don't mind you asking at all. One of my wife's sister is a big time negative person who also sticks her nose in EVERYONE'S business. She's also not very bright. Her 2 other sisters are pretty decent people. Her 2 brothers are pretty decent cats. I'd go out of my way for them for sure. Her mother is 80 and never worked a day in her life and is also negative. Her sister is like her mother. I cut the mother LOTS of slack since her father died.

Her sisters husband is a flat out lazy cunt. He's the cheapest prick I've ever known. I'm not cheap. He's the type who would take and not give or offer. Next to the chinese neighbour, he's the laziest person I've ever met. His wife waits in him hand and foot and he doesn't appreciate a damn thing. Just a rotten fucker. Her 2 brothers and mudder HATE HIS GUTS. We have great conversations about him. My wife doesn't care for him as well, but she doesn't hate him as much as myself and her 2 brothers hate him.

Ya that's brutal, Mathieu. I remember phoning my parents from the hospital room at 7:30 a.m. and they drove 5 hours right away and were in the hospital at around 2 p.m. They were absolutely THRILLED to death. My father LOVES my boys. Especially my oldest. I cherish the first picture I have holding my oldest boy with my parents huddled around us.
