I went virtually every Sunday growing up. I also was in all the youth activities.. I bet I was at church 2-3x a week until I got to high school. I hated going to the actual service. I remember once my mom asked if we were going to the early or late service and my dad saying "Early. Let's get it over with. " I was so shocked because my dad was on numerous church boards etc...I know he was sorry he said it but I still joke about it with my mom.


Ray, my dad had one of those go to church talks with me. I just kind of nodded and said "I know" or something to that effect.

I have probably been to church 2-4x in the last 10 years and one was for my dad's funeral. I think being forced to go as a child now makes me not want to go regardless of my belief system. I turn on a local TV service for mom on Sundays...not that it makes any impact on her anymore, but I know it is what she would want.

if it makes people feel better and feel better about themselves to the point where they are better people all around, im all for them going...

besides those, in the last 25yrs(or more) i think i have been 2 or 3 times with a gf and her family on easter...and both times i was still majorly fucked up from partying the night before... ive done coke more times than i can recall in church bathrooms during weddings too... ho hum...
iga, my dad gets suckered into this $75 a person buffet for all our family every year at easter... i keep telling him that we can fry a fucking turkey and make a handful of other things and dont have to deal with getting dressed up and can sit at home and watch football... never works :sbrjohn:
