In laws for Xmas this year (tgiving was with my fam). The rents are coming to NYC since all 5 of the kids live here (I'm married to the oldest). We're basically going out to dinner twice and a small Xmas morn gift exchange. Maybe a movie Xmas day. It'll be nice to be able to retreat to our own home but I'm sad it's not a "country" Xmas up at the rents house... Fireplaces, pets running around, board games, snow.

Flights to Tahoe are very expensive from the Miami area. What's up with that, Potato? And you have to make like 2 stops.

First off, what is "very expensive" to you? In January Potato is seeing airfare from MIA to RNO for roughly $400.

But to answer your question, there's 2 major factors into price: Load factor and gate space. Load factor is an aviation term for % of butts in these seats. Since there aren't too many people from the Miami area flying into Tahoe to go skiing (and the plane is going anyway) the price will be high. As for gate space, Miami is dominated by American (71% of MIA flights). Tahoe is dominated by Southwest (53% of RNO flights). Usually those are your 2 cheapest carriers to fly.

Good luck McB!!

We have work the day before, and the day after, plus I am sure Bacon will have me making him Christmas dinner, I so I personally won't be doing much. debating putting the tree up for Bacon.....maybe later.

Well it ain't looking too bad so far, road-conditions-wise. Heading out in about 40 minutes. It's not perfect but close enough. Very glad of that.

Forecast is calling for some snow as the day goes along but then again it's supposed to be snowing already - and it ain't.

It's a Christmas miracle!

Plus FW, you know how crowded the stores were last night! People ordering sandwiches left and right, parking lots where fukers parking in loading zones! Ain't like years ago where people stayed home and cooked! I'm old! and cranky presently!
