Police May Have Lied About Justin Bieber’s Arrest, Miami Beach PD has “credibility issues”
TMZ is reporting that Miami Beach police officers may have exaggerated how much alcohol the pop singer Justin Bieber had in his system at the time of his arrest. Bieber’s blood alcohol level was reportedly .014, which is almost nothing. Law enforcement reported that his BAC was .04, an enormous difference.

Miami Reorganizes Police Department
MIAMI -- City officials Thursday reorganized the scandal-plagued Miami Police Department, which has been rocked with the arrests of more than two dozen officers in two years. Officials also turned over the investigation into the recent theft of hundreds of pounds of marijuana from a police storage bin to State Attorney Janet Reno, to avoid accusations of a police cover-up. "We have a criminal problem in the police department. We recognize that," said Miami City Manager Cesar Odio. The shake-up is designed to increase the supervision of lower-ranking officers, tighten control over procedures and streamline the department, said Odio and Police Chief Clarence Dickson.

Cop used his job to commit identity theft, feds say
As a police officer, Malinsky Bazile was supposed to "serve and protect" the public, but federal prosecutors said he followed a different code – "to steal and victimize."
Investigators said he abused his position of trust — and his police computer — to commit identity theft, stealing the personal information of hundreds of people and using it to file fraudulent income tax returns.

Hanna was arrested this morning at the Miami Police Department, where he has worked since August 1998.
The
Miami Police Department or
MPD, often referred to as the
City of Miami Police, is the chief
police department of the
U.S. city of
Miami, Florida.
Their jurisdiction lies within the actual
city limits of Miami, but have mutual aid agreements with neighboring police departments. Currently Manuel Orosa is the chief of police.
City of Miami police are distinguishable from their
Miami-Dade counterparts by their blue uniforms and blue-and-white patrol vehicles.
Currently the city of MIAMI POLICE DEPARTMENT is the lowest paid law enforcement agency in South Florida.
With the City of Miami experiencing three straight years of budget shortfalls, salaries for police officers and overall public safety budgeting have been slashed. This has had a dramatic effect on attrition rates within the department resulting in the freezing of promotions, decreased morale and an increase in overall crime rates.
The department also suffers from outdated and dis-functional equipment as well a generally apathetic attitude towards proper training.
Officers of all ranks within the City of Miami Police Department have been actively discouraging prospective applicants not to apply with this agency due to the current budgeting issues.
Such actions have created a shortage in uniformed police officers within the city and have since caused the citizens of Miami to call their elected officials into action.
Despite town hall style meetings addressing the issues with public safety, the City of Miami Police Department still goes grossly underfunded.
