In the early nineties those two were doing some weird touring debate series. A student group I was involved with sponsored their appearance at our university. We took them out to lunch before the "debate."

Liddy was goofier than Leary. They were pals at this point, everything was just for show. Good early lesson in the nature of public personas.

It's true tho. My view of Prince Philip is shaped to a very large extent by The Crown.

I don't know if that's fair or not. Prolly not.

But it has to be said, the opinion of him it has given me is not low. At least the bits I'm remembering right now, he comes off pretty cool. Flawed no doubt, but cool.
