The general rule with every new version of Windows is to wait until the 1st service pack containing bug fixes and security updates is released.

Microsoft has a habit of releasing each "latest and greatest" version of Windows early and letting its customers be the beta testers.

FW, I would hold off on Windows 8 for a while.
