Taxpayers don't fund unemployment, the company does.
At the moment, employers pay a state tax for each employee. The money pays for all those state-issued unemployment checks the first 26 weeks of them, anyway.

Employers also pay a per-employee federal tax, which funds administrative costs of implementing the system.

But because the unemployment rate now at 9 percent has remained relatively high for so long, 30 states have exhausted their funds and have had to borrow $41 billion from Uncle Sam. The biggest borrowers are California, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, and Illinois.

how would you have any idea what the warehouse profits each week? answer = you dont
if their 180K over budget its a no brainer for the HNICs.. would you continue to operate a business that is losing money or make changes?sucks for the employees but its reality for businesses

180k over budget in labor. The warehouse itself is doing fine monetarily. Our New Manager just wants his big year end bonus. Any moran knows when you work 16 hour days you cant produce at the same rate you would in a 8 hour night. But Pepsi is too cheap to hire more employee and pay more benefits.

I no because we have a load out computer program each day. we ship between 400-500k cases of soda each day on average. 80% of That they profit about $2 per case, the rest is much higher. Now the BIB's( bag in the box, the concentrate syrup that fountain machines use) sales for $80 a case. we ship about 20,000 of those to Taco bell and other restaurants a week. at least 1 transport trucks a day with pallets of them. That contract alone is worth a million a week in profit. Cost to produce a 12 pack is 2 cents. cost to produce a bag in the box is 58 cents.

How can they get away with this?

Because we have a very weak union. I wont go into any details the type of shit their pulling but a few of my co workers have contacted attorneys and both feel their is discrimination and harassment going on. Not to mention in court a Union contract is a legal binding contract. But filing a lawsuit against a corporation is a joke and will take 8 years to get a settlement.

$1900, that's way higher than I'd expect. Would live on that, fuck work.

16hour days? you may not feel it now, but you ain't gonna be young forever. ah capitalism. UTEOT is headed straight for occupy Wall Street.

Cant live on 1900. If you can more power to you. Living in mediocrity is probably whats comfortable to you . Ive been putting that much into retirement accounts alone a month.
