Lets see if we keep this roll going tonight guys
Tonight's Write up brought to you by: "Gambling:" "Because luck never gives, it only lends".
Both sides were asked the question last week, however only the saints delivered with authority.
The Saints answered the questions put before them last week without injured skipper Nick Riewoldt by beating a determined dockers outfit by 15 points at Etihad Stadium. The saints go to guy Brendon Goddard and determined forward Steven Milne combined to kick 10 goals in Riewoldts absence with star midfielder Nick DelSanto also contributing with 35 possessions and 2 goals.
The Power on the other hand have just faced probably the toughest test in football, that being Geelong at Geelong. Trailing by just 10 points at half time the Cats regrouped after the break kicking 11 3rd quarter goals and eventually winning by 95 points.
The clash between these two sides has become a regular feature on Anzac weekend and the player who best exemplifies the Anzac spirit on Saturday night will be awarded the Peter Badcoe VC medal.
For the Power talented midfielder Robbie Gray returned making an immediate impact wit 18 disposals and 2 goals. The clearance specialist starred over the pre-season before injuring his hamstring and will only improve on his first-up effort against the Cats.
The Saints utility Brendon Goddard proved the difference last weekend. The former No.1 draft pick had 21 possessions and nine marks to go with his return of 5.2. The Saints forward line will be bolstered by the return of suspended big man Justin Koschitzke this week, but the moist and windy conditions might suit Goddard better.
Are the Power a genuine finals contender? Poor results against two top 4 teams in as many weeks would suggest that they are still a work in progress. Itll be a tough ask for Williams warriors to knock off last years grand finalists on Saturday night, but they would still gain confidence from a solid, four-quarter-effort.
Can the Saints find another avenue to goal this week? Goddard is likely to attract plenty of attention from the Power if and when he goes forward. Coach Ross Lyon also experimented with defenders Sam Fisher and Zac Dawson in attack last week and it will be interesting to see how the Saints structure up on Saturday night.
In conclusion the Port Adelaide players say they learned a lesson from the loss to Geelong, but it might take them more than six days to put it into practice. The Saints will be buoyed by their win over Freo and the quality of their midfield should ensure they get enough inside-50s to kick a winning score again this week, regardless of who plays in attack. My play here is for the Saints -21.5 (-104) 1 unit. Would have been more but the weather is atrocious here in adelaide. Another play im taking small here is total matchpoints to be under 150 (+275) from sportsbet, particularly if this weather continues like its forecast to..
Well once again BOL with your plays guys and lets post some winners
