not going to argue that the bbwaa screws the pooch at times, but the end result of the al mvp was the correct one. for once, they took to heart the middle word in mvp -- valuable. i wouldn't have voted for young no. 1 on my ballot, but it's hard to suggest he wasn't the most valuable player on a rangers team that went to the world series.
mlb has entrusted the bbwaa with these awards and the hall of fame. writers are just as biased as any other human being would be with the job. but instead of blaming the bbwaa, blame mlb for giving them the job, just as you shouldn't blame bud selig for his decisions, but rather the 30 owners who have given him the power to make one bad decision after another.
