yes, but only for my own purpose.

I understand that helping friends is important during "trying" times, but this doesn't qualify as a difficult time that your friend is going through. A lot of thought and planning has to go into buying a home and taking on a mortgage. I don't think your friend has put a lot of thought and planning into the home buying decision and you shouldn't be the one who should be holding his hand though the process.
 
xpy, I did this last yr for a friend. Even detailed it in my thread because I was making plays for her and felt like I was playing with her money. Her hubby was beating the shit out of her and she needed $15k for bond, removalists, child care, first month, furniture rental, etc... And I made it for her thankfully.

But then she went back to him. And he still whupped her so she wanted help again and when I said no I don't think it's feasible, she ditched me so we no longer talk. Can't have that aggro in my life at the moment anyway but what a shitty way to go.

Be careful with this stuff with friends. If they're not gamblers, they start to assume you're a bank or at least an auto cash generating machine; which you know isn't sustainable. I'd walk away now that you've done it once for a buddy. (sorry to be such a debbie downer)

And Oxy, good job saying 'no way' the second time around. Unappreciative friends are nothing but a burden looking for handouts. When she walked that's all you needed to know about her.
