Now I'm worried about Clinton. I remember how people say if a woman was president there would be no war. If this woman will be president she's most likely to start a war that ends all wars. Nasty excuse for a woman. Overzealous and empty.

It's definitely going to be a Republican. We need to fix all the mess Obama created just like Obama fixed all the mess Bush did before. This is the new American dream. We have become a nation of fixers because we can't do anything right the first time.

Bacon and I were just talking about this the other night. I think it's good to alternate between Democrats and Republicans...keeps the balance. Or, at least that's the theory. I wonder if a Libertarian will ever take office.

Cami I think that's a little short sighted. Let's look at the last few presidents and see what 8 years of each has gotten us:

Clinton 8 years Dem - NAFTA, beginning of the housing bubble, repeal of Glass-Steagall Act

Bush 8 years Rep - 9/11, Iraq War, Housing Crash, Terrible fiscal policy in 2nd term, Patriot Act, giving no bid contracts to Halliburton

Obama 6+ years Dem - Not enough time to list everything but I'll take a stab from memory: IRS targeting political opponents, Benghazi, Fast and Furious, VA scandal, Solar energy scandal involving Solyndra, violating the War Powers Resolution by attacking Libya without congressional approval, the border mess with Illegal Immigrants being purposely shipped into specific states, giving no bid contracts to KBR (a subsidiary of Halliburton), Gave tax dollars to AIG executives then pretended to be outraged at it, supported Bush's unconstitutional Patriot Act, Lied about 100 things (at least) the main one that you would be able to keep your insurance and doctor if you liked them under Obamacare.

I'm sure there's lists of things on each president, but as you can see, the 8 year thing is really not working to our advantage, only to the politician's advantage.

Guess that was the change everyone was hoping for

Every president fucks up something. I didn't say I think they should be able to run office for two consecutive terms, I said I think that alternating between dems a repubs is a good idea, in theory.

I think people really wanted a change, and so they figured a black guy would bring it...I think they were thinking about change, in the wrong way. I also believe a lot of people voted for him just to see what would happen...I don't think they put much stock into whom would actually be best for office. Obama started off great, and I admittedly enjoyed having a president that was very hands on and active with the public, I recall seeing him on a sports show doing a draft pick, I thought that was pretty cool. He had a pretty big mess to clean from Bush, and made a whole new mess himself. I don't imagine being president is an easy job, so I am certainly not going to say much as to whether he is doing good or not, I haven't got a clue how I would handle things, except maybe listen to the public more and try to give them what they want/need. and I wouldn't be surprised if Hilary was next.

JFK was the last good president. And probably the last president who wasn't taking orders from the war machine. But he was assassinated.

The fact is killing people in foreign countries is a very good business, and the military industrial complex that runs the country and owns it's politicians is very willing to get rid of you if you don't comply.

Yeah I know all about the Bay of Pigs. If you know anything about that he also avoided what that mistake turned into (Cuban Missile Crisis). So I guess that would be like any number of the aforementioned mistakes from other presidents, and them taking those mistakes and then actually avoiding a conflict, instead of turning it into some large scale war where we kill thousands of innocent people not only from other countries but our own and then proclaim a false victory when there never had to a war in the first place. All about the dollars.

Also pretty sure I never said he didn't make any mistakes. I'm pretty sure I said he was that last great president, which he was IMO Wally (for all the people who are offended by opinions).

Another thing to consider about the Bay of Pigs is that it was first approved by Eisenhower in 1960 who approved the budget for it all with the intention of persuading JFK. So, not like it didn't happen under JFK's watch but it certainly wasn't his idea.

I am not an Obama supporter or a hater. But I hate warmongers like McCain who wants to arm Ukraine to attack the rebels. Like Putin is going to sit there and watch his brethren slaughtered. If we adopt McCain's agendas this country is going to go under. He is capable of destroying the world without any concern for human or other life.

Roosevelt was the last real American president. Everyone after him has made mistakes. It's not a party issue. It's lack of charisma. Look at Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama. All made hugh mistakes.
 I wouldn't call them mistakes though. The tactics are part of an agenda that suits elite interest well. If the motivation was to improve lives of average people you can call it mistakes. But that's not the case

This nation has become so corrupt, egotistical, power, adn money hungry, that I doubt we will ever have another great president. It seems everyone has a secret agenda or anterior motive. Not to mention with the rise of social media...everyone's business is out there for everyone else to see and I have come across a lot of people..mainly men, that hold even personal "mistakes" against an elective and it tarnishes their opinion of said politician...even if they look good on paper.
