I firmly tell people to please not buy me anything for Christmas because I’m not 12 anymore.

YES. My mom and MIL are berating us trying to get gift ideas from us. We don't need shit! No pans, no "practical household items", nothing! We're going to chuck whatever it is you're going to force upon us!

I ended up asking my Mom for coffee. Not coffee-related items, just a selection of beans from her local roaster. She suggested a FOKKIN KEURIG MACHINE even after she witnessed us using and praising our Aeropress. FFS.

I guarantee you she's going to throw in something we have no use for.

Same with my son. He's into gaming and playing music, he just wants gift cards. NO 8 YEAR OLD WANTS A FOKKING DUFFLEBAG FOR CHRISTMAS, GRANDMA.
